Entry requirements

A bachelor degree with Honours at lower second class or above or a professional qualification deemed to be degree equivalent. This bachelor degree does not need to be an LLB Law degree.

Other qualifications or specific training and/or experience may also be considered if the applicant is able to demonstrate his/her suitability for the course and to provide evidence as appropriate.

Course content

The LLM International Business Law is available to students from both a legal and non-legal background. Our students have typically been law graduates, business graduates, legal professionals and people working in commercial fields both nationally and internationally. Within industry international business law is a fast-changing and increasingly complex area.

This postgraduate course provides students with analytical and reflective skills and expertise in international business law. It provides a learning experience which will enable students to develop their academic ability and enhance their performance in employment and further develop their career opportunities. It provides the successful candidate with a recognised postgraduate qualification in International Business Law.

A key feature of this course is that modules in International Commercial Arbitration and International Commercial Mediation are offered which may lead to additional qualifications.

Students registered on the LLM in International Business Law with Professional Placement, who successfully secure a placement will progress to year two. This will provide students with practical experience of working in a business law-related environment.
