Entry requirements

Students require a good honours degree (or equivalent) in a subject related to tourism, business or service sector management. It would normally be expected that this degree be awarded at the level of lower second class or above. Other graduates who can demonstrate a commitment to the study of tourism management or who have significant experience in the tourism industry will also be considered for entry.

Course content

The PGDip/MSc International Tourism Management applies a range of key management skills across the public and private sectors of tourism industry. In particular, an international emphasis is placed upon the development, organisation and management of tourism to illustrate past, present and future difference between tourism policy and practice. These approaches may be political, economic or social however serve to highlight how and why tourism destinations and organisations are managed differently. Knowledge and practical insight is illustrated from a variety of global perspectives from the developed and developing world.
