Entry requirements

The criteria for entry on to the programme will be registration on the appropriate part of the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register (NMC) for the chosen pathway. In addition, practitioners will have a minimum of one year's relevant post registration experience and support from a sponsoring trust. Applicants must also meet the following academic requirements: A first degree (minimum of second class honours) in a related subject, with evidence of continual professional development.

Course content

The programme is 50% theory and 50% practice and is integrated across the duration of the course. The theoretical component is undertaken at the University and the practical component in a clinical setting, under the supervision of a qualified professional Practice Teacher from the chosen specialist pathway.
All students are required to attend University to obtain the theoretical elements of the course, and spend the equivalent time in clinical practice.
