Entry requirements

To enter the course, you need a recordable professional qualification in the health and social care field, and will normally hold a first degree (minimum of 2:1 honours) or equivalent. Consideration will be given to applicants who have evidence of other appropriate experience or learning.

This course offers opportunities to integrate your studies to meet the differing demands of modern job roles, tailoring your choice of modules to meet your needs and individual interests.

Master’s degrees are becoming a requirement for practitioners working at a higher level in health and social care. These posts often integrate a range of roles and challenges, including management, education, and direct client care.

The Faculty of Health and Social Care offers this flexible modular course, which will give you the opportunity to tailor your choice of modules to suit your individual needs and interests.

You can effectively develop your own bespoke Master’s course, thus enabling the degree to refl ect the differing demands of modern job roles in an ever-changing working environment.

You will undertake a range of assessments, including practical assessments, essays, reflective writing, presentations and work-based learning. Contact hours are variable depending upon the module delivery. Each module, apart from the dissertation, has 20 credits and equates to 200 hours of learning over the duration of the module, including approximately three contact hours per week per module.

Our course is delivered at Riverside Campus. Teaching is by a variety of methods. Some modules are taught via e-learning, others a mix of e-learning and classroom teaching, and others by tutorials or work-based learning.
