Course content

Develop a breadth of and in-depth understanding of essential and advanced restorative dentistry, creating a solid foundation for a successful career.

Restorative dentistry comprises approximately 90% of dental practice; therefore it is an important field of advanced study. This innovative course, delivered in partnership with Red Square.

Our course offers strong mentor and tutorial support and is taught by renowned international and national speakers. It is delivered at a centre which offers a full range of facilities for both practical and theoretical learning.

The format is designed to fit in with dentists who may already have a busy practice, e.g. attendance in Year 1 is one full Saturday per month.

Year 2 of the course builds on the first year to develop advanced skills in restorative dental practice. Year 3 will enable you to engage in undertaking empirical research to extend the existing body of knowledge in an area of relevance to your practice.

Course delivery is over three sites. The full MSc course, along with Postgraduate Certficate and Postgraduate Diploma options, will be taught at:

  • The Manchester Dental Education Centre (MANDEC), 3rd Floor, University Dental Hospital, Higher Cambridge St, Manchester, M15 6FH - a centre which offers a full range of facilities for both practical and theoretical learning - and Riverside Campus, Chester
