Entry requirements

You will need: 5 GCSEs Grade C or above including Maths, English and Science or equivalent; Honours degree 2:2 or above; relevant professional work experience in a service user context equivalent to 450hrs (12 full-time (37.5hrs) weeks); experience of education or study within the last five years is preferred. In addition: You will be expected to complete a portfolio to evidence how your past experiences are relevant to a career in nursing; admission is subject to occupational health screening and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks; if English is not your first language you must have achieved at least level 7 in all four components of IELTS (listening, reading, writing and speaking).

Course content

This is a flexible course with routes to both the Postgraduate Diploma and the full MSc possible within just two years of full-time study ‌

Both the MSc and the Postgraduate Diploma route leads to registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council at the end of the two year course

You will adopt a person-centred approach to care, develop critical evaluation skills and develop the caring professionalism required to thrive in your career as a nurse

Reflecting the postgraduate nature of this degree, you’ll have an increased level of autonomy, with the choice of an option module in the second year

The course will equip you with vital nursing skills and our use of clinical supervision throughout the course will enable you to develop resilience and reflective practice.
