Course content

This course enables you to focus on the sport and exercise science discipline of your choice, so you can tailor your learning to specialise in psychology, physiology, or a mixture of both. Our partnerships with Team Derby and the Derbyshire Institute of Sport for example, will provide you with the opportunity to work with athletes in a real world setting, to build your applied skills and put theory into practice. Successful completion of the course will help you to pursue a wide range of careers such as a sport scientist or teaching/working in the community and health sectors, to promote behaviour change and healthy lifestyles.

  • We have experts in sport and exercise psychology, physiology, exercise and health, strength and conditioning, biomechanics and performance analysis, and nutrition, so you’ll have access to guidance in the field of your choice.
  • Our excellent facilities, including a brand new sport centre, create a professional research environment and allow you to put theory into practice.
