Course content

This Legal Practice top up is part of the Derby LLM programme.

It allows you to make a real impact in the job market and top up your LPC to an LLM in Legal Practice.

This LLM (Legal Practice) course builds on the Legal Practice Course (LPC) you’ll already have completed or be working towards completing. It offers you the ultimate in flexibility – the chance to undertake a dissertation in a subject of your choosing.

You will start out by studying either the Legal Scholarship double module or the Applied Research in Criminal Justice Systems and Comparative Jurisprudence modules. These build on the practical legal research skills you’ll have learned during the LPC. Life in legal practice involves using research skills on an almost daily basis and the chance to develop these skills in both a practical and academic context is invaluable. These modules will also fully prepare you for your independent study during the final masters stage.
