Entry requirements

Students will normally be expected to have a 2:1 honours degree in any subject. All prospective students must submit a piece of writing for assessment to gain entry to the programme.

Course content

There are four core modules, worth 30 credits of:

Creating Writing;
Refining Writing;
Researching Writing 1;
Researching Writing 2 or Writing, Texts and Books.

Students take two modules per semester if full time, one per semester if part time.

Masters students who pass the taught part of the course with an average of B3 or higher, undertake a 60-credit dissertation. You develop the theme or idea for your dissertation over the year, with the help of tutors.
