Entry requirements

Degree Subject A degree, carrying with it a qualification in a health care profession Degree Classification 2.2 or above Special Entry Requirements State registration with a recognised health profession council together with appropriate professional experience. Must already be qualified as a Physiotherapist.

You must submit a Memorandum of Understanding at the time of application. Your manager will need to confirm that you will be given the time and resources required for the programme.

Course content

Study:

A degree designed for those in a health care profession seeking to further their career as a Physiotherapist to an advanced level. For many, dynamic skills are essential to keeping up with the ever-changing needs and challenges of modern practice and medicine. You will develop a multidisciplinary understanding of all areas of practice to ensure you can provide the best and most appropriate health care to your patients.

Structure:

Students learn in the areas of enhanced clinical assessment, pathophysiology and produce a dissertation, in addition to their choice compulsory module (with opportunity to pursue work-based learning, law and ethics or qualitative research). Students meet regularly with peers from other schools within the School of Health Sciences: an inter-professional attitude that encourages good communication and a greater understanding of different roles within the medical profession.

When you study in the School of Health Sciences you will receive a sound academic and practice based education. This Master’s course is designed to be professionally dynamic and personally transforming with a creative, challenging and engaging approach to study. The teaching staff are continually involved in research so you can benefit from their knowledge of the very latest practices and techniques, working in partnership with them on this research.

We welcome applications from students whose first language is not English. To ensure such students benefit fully from postgraduate study, we require evidence of proficiency in English. Our usual entry requirements are as follows: IELTS: 7.0 (minimum 7.0 in all component); PTE: 68 (minimum 68 in all components).
