Entry requirements

Applicants will normally have a first-class or 2.1 degree or equivalent, or comparable professional, practice or research experience. Applications from overseas and EU students are welcomed. Eligibility for students without degree-equivalent qualifications will be assessed on the basis of a short essay and statement or a portfolio as appropriate. Places will be offered after a successful interview with a member of the programme team.

Course content

This MA is a unique interdisciplinary programme, drawing on social sciences and the humanities to provide graduate-level education in narrative methods and theories. The programme gives you experience in the application of narrative research procedures, analysis and conceptualisations to particular fields. It guides you through the planning and performance of a piece of advanced and original narrative research. In addition, the MA develops more general skills of review, criticism, and team and individual research, all within the context of narrative research.

Information for international students

Students whose first language is not English should normally have achieved a score of 6.5 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or equivalent.
