Entry requirements

The normal entry requirement is an upper second class honours degree in a relevant discipline. Where an applicant does not meet these requirements consideration may be given to other equivalent academic qualifications and significant professional training and experience. If English is not your first language, you must have one of the following qualifications as evidence of your spoken and written English: IELTS: total 6.5 (at least 6.0 in each module); TOEFL-iBT: total 92 (at least 20 in each module); PTE(A): total 61 (at least 56 in each of the "Communicative Skills" sections); CPE: Grade C; CAE: Grade B.

Course content

Insufficient physical activity is the fourth leading risk factor for global mortality. Physical inactivity has recently been recognised as a pandemic and is a global public health issue. This exciting new MSc Physical Activity for Health will enhance knowledge and understanding of the issues pertinent to this area, and will contribute to building workforce capacity in this area explore pertinent issues

The core content of the programme will draw from the health sciences of psychology, physiology and epidemiology to enhance knowledge and understanding of the issues pertinent to physical activity for health.

It will draw on both research and practice to provide the student with a thorough knowledge and awareness of the role of physical activity in improving and maintaining health.

The programme is designed to provide academic training at a postgraduate level for recent graduates and the existing national and international workforce.
