Course content

The Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies is recognised as one of the main centres in the world for social sciences and humanities teaching and research in relation to Arab and Islamic countries. Research is divided into three disciplinary research clusters; the Islamic Studies cluster; the Middle East Social Sciences cluster and the Middle East Humanities cluster.

The institute has strong links with other departments in the University and students work closely alongside researchers from the following research centres; Centre for Gulf Studies; Centre for Persian and Iranian Studies; Centre for Kurdish Studies; European Centre for Palestine Studies and The Centre for the Study of Islam.
