Course content

Crucial for clinical diagnosis of diseases and appropriate treatment of patients, Biomedical Science is vital to the operation of the NHS and related health industries.

WHY THIS PROGRAMME

Accredited by the Royal Society of Biology for the purpose of meeting, in part, the academic and experience requirement for the Membership and Chartered Biologist (CBiol).

Research training for students intending to proceed to a career in biomedical sciences, either directly as a Biomedical Scientist or through a PhD.

Similar to the MRes Biomedical Sciences, but with more teaching in the first part of the programme, and one research project.

Experience learning a wide range of modern molecular biology techniques required to pursue a research career in biomedical science.

Gain valuable practical research experience by using the skills and techniques acquired during the programme to complete an in depth research project.

An ideal introduction for overseas students who may wish to proceed to PhD studies in the UK, Europe or the USA.

Information for international students

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic module (not General Training)

  • 6.5 with no subtests under 6.0.
  • Tests must have been taken within 2 years 5 months of start date. Applicants must meet the overall and subtest requirements using a single test.
