Course content

The Dental School has a thriving community of postgraduate research students, from both the United Kingdom and overseas.

The majority of our research students are undertaking PhD programmes within the themes identified in the Glasgow Dental School Research Strategy Booklet, and which are pursued through its two Research Groups, Community Oral Health and Infection & Immunity.

Our PhD students come from a wide variety of clinical and non-clinical backgrounds including microbiology, immunology, dental public health, epidemiology, statistical modeling, psychology and behavioural sciences. We provide them with training in a wide range of generic and transferable skills through our Graduate School.

Start dates are set by both the supervisor and the department. As such some PHD options will have fixed start dates (likely January/October) and others have a rolling intake. For more details please contact the relevant department.
