On this highly flexible course for qualified social workers, students choose modules in the order they wish to achieve their professional goals. There are several exit points, depending on whether you wish to attain Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or MSc level. With three pathways plus optional modules to choose from, the course allows you to tailor your learning for focused continuing professional development. Within each of the three pathways – Children and Families, Adults, and Leadership and Management – there are two core modules; the student must then chose a further optional module from a selection covering different aspects of social work. Modules may also be studied on an individual basis.
Students are supported in their learning by experienced teaching staff who are registered social workers with diverse professional backgrounds. The learning experience is dynamic, interactive and experiential. Students are encouraged to bring their own ‘practice wisdom’ to the course and become research-minded practitioners of change. into the programme, enriching the learning experience.
