You must hold a previous honours degree. However, students with lesser awards will be considered on an individual basis and will need to provide evidence of experience and competence at a suitable standard. You must successfully pass an interview process plus 100 hours of work experience. DBS check required

Course content

If you want to be a professionally qualified youth worker, this course is for you. This profession has a substantial historical and practical base which is continually evolving in tandem with the many changes in the relevant youth work sectors.

The university youth work staff have been central to such changes and have designed this course so that students will understand the context and acquire the knowledge and skills required to be successful in this important area. A key element of the course is understanding youth work in different settings.
