Course content
This course is a specialist postgraduate degree. You’ll gain the tools and techniques you need to undertake a digital forensic investigation, analyse evidential data and to produce documentation for use in the criminal and civil legal system.
The aim is to provide you with the knowledge and skills to be able to undertake digital forensic investigation in accordance with established professional practices and legal requirements. To achieve this, the course has been designed to create effective cyber forensic investigators who will have acquired the necessary technical skills and knowledge to work within a managerial role in the industry.
Our dedicated cyber forensic labs are kitted out with industry-standard software and extraction equipment and you’ll use them throughout the course. You’ ll encounter a number of real-world scenarios to further enhance your learning experience.
Study skills
Each module will be delivered in a five-day block of study – combining traditional lectures and tutorials with support from industry case studies and seminars.
Assignments issued at the end of each block will be simulating real-world scenarios and, where possible, live briefs will be used. Teamwork and communication skills are embedded throughout.
