Entry requirements

MRes - you will need at least a 2.1 Honours degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area. On successful completion of the MRes you can normally progress to a PhD.

PhD - you will need a Masters degree or equivalent, in a subject area relevant to the proposed research topic.

Course content

Contribute to the advancement of your profession through an in-depth research project in a specialist area of interest. Develop your professional expertise and academic skills. Benefit from supervisory team support, with all supervisors chosen based on their expertise in your subject. Open the door to work in full-time research, teaching or professional practice.Develop your skills through research training events, research student-led seminars, conferences and summer schools. Have opportunities to participate in training offered through other universities and bodies.

Attend national and international academic conferences and in the latter stages of your research, present your ideas and receive feedback.Get involved with active research centres and groups researching a range of issues including services marketing, consumption, retailing, HR, HRD and leadership.

Research Areas

Some of our recent research completions include: the role of processes, groups and individuals on the practice of innovation; the influence of cultural factors on knowledge sharing within organisations; the use of personality and integrity/honesty assessments as an employee selection tool in high impact SMEs; the process theory of internationalisation and international new venture theory; service recovery and justice theory and exploring working lives through the framework of the psychological contract.

From 2018, the University of Gloucestershire Business School will move to a brand-new, state-of-the-art home at our Oxstalls campus in Gloucester. Information for international students

International students need IELTS 6.5 overall (no less than 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in any other band) or equivalent.
