Entry requirements

Equivlent to a UK second-class honours degree in computer science or a similar subject. Applicants with a second-class degree in another subject (combined with an appropriate leel of computer literacy) can apply but will need to take some foundations modules first. We will also consider applicants who do not wholly meet these requirements, but who we consider to have enough experience and potential to meet the course requirements.

Course content

This course will give an in-depth understanding of theoretical and practical developments in modelling, storing and distributing data through an enterprise or wide area network. It draws upon a number of research papers and case studies to examine issues such as object-orientation, data warehousing, service-oriented architectures and mobile databases. Also develops practical skills in areas such as Oracle(R) database management, web services, extended relational data models and XML schemas. Core modules are: advanced database and web services. Information for international students

If English is not the 1st language a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent is required.
