Entry requirements

Equivalent to a UK second-class honours degree in computer science or a similar subject. Applicants with a second-class honours degree in another subject (combined with an appropriate level of computer literacy) can apply but will need to take some foundation modules first. We will also consider applicants who do not wholly meet these requirements but who we consider to have enough experience and potential to meet the course requirements.

Course content

The course will give you a thorough understanding of multimedia technologies, based on the methods used for multimedia production: specification, storyboarding, planning and informaion architecture. It covers contemporary media applications, from the mainstream - including Macromedia Flash (R) and Director (R) - to the more theoretical approaches offered by SMIL, SVG and other SML based multimedia tools. Core modues are: Wireless, Mobile and Ad-hoc Networking; Mobile, Multicaset and Multimedia Networking; Multimedia Specification, Design and Production.

Information for international students

If English is not the first language a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent is required.
