A first degree in Law (or a subject in a related discipline, such as Business, Political Science or International Relations) at a minimum of 2:2. You must also satisfy the University’s English language requirement for the course, which is a GCSE grade C or above, or IELTS at 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each band.
Months of entry
Students study 2 compulsory modules (one each semester) as well as 2 options.
Compulsory modules for the LLM in Commercial Law are:
- Company Law;
- and Commercial Law.
Additionally, students are required to complete two optional modules, one in Semester A and one in Semester B.
Semester A modules are:
- Alternative Dispute Resolution;
- Banking Law;
- Chinese Commercial Law;
- E-Commerce Law;
- Intellectual Property Law;
- Public International Law;
- International Commercial Law.
Semester B modules are:
- Chinese Investment Law;
- Privacy and Data Protection;
- Conflicts of Laws;
- International Financial Law;
- Maritime Law;
- Telecommunications Law and Legal Risk Management;
- Governance and Compliance.
In addition to the taught modules, students also undertake an internship or complete a 15,000 word dissertation (counts as 2 modules) in Semester C. Assessment is carried out through an oral presentation, a reflective diary and a portfolio.

An overseas qualification which is equivalent to a UK Honours degree, minimum 2:2 classification. You must also satisfy the University’s English language requirement for the course, which is IGCSE grade C or above, or IELTS at 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each band.
