Entry requirements

A first degree in a related discipline or evidence of equivalent professional development. Registration with a professional body allied to medicine or health. A minimum of one year clinical experience (or equivalent) with patients who have skin conditions.

Course content

The course emphasises the application of dermatological skills and knowledge to practice and its varied methods of learning and teaching further enhance its flexibility. Students can study modules in any order before completing a healthcare disciplines project, working towards step-off awards of PgD or PgC. Students that successfully complete the project will graduate with an MSc. The compulsory modules are: evidence-based practice; healthcare disciplines project. Then students earn sixty credits from the following modules: chronic skin conditions; recognition and management of skin lesions; skin surgery skills; therapeutics from skin conditions. Remaining sixty credits to be earned from the following related areas: business skills for clinicians; enhancing skin integrity skills; mind and skin; skin integrity and tissue repair.

Information for international students

If English is not the 1st language, a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent is required.
