Entry requirements

A graduate registered health professional, employed in, or with access to, a relevant area of practice, and with evidence of appropriate healthcare experience. Applicants also need to attend appropriate British Medical Acupuncture Society courses or equivalent and have personal liability status to perform acupuncture.

Course content

This course is supported by the British Medical Acupuncture Society and offers a unique focus on a western medical approach to acupuncture within a variety of healthcare settings. Students study specialist compulsory modules and modules of common interest. Compulsory modules are: Western medical acupuncture in clinical practice; theoretical and professional issues in western medical acupuncture; expanding practice in western medical acupuncture; evidence-based practice; healthcare disciplines project. The remaining 30 credits can be earned from a wide range of modules from other health-care related courses.
