Course content
The world is becoming a turbulent place with humanitarian and environmental challenges being at the forefront. This course provides the essential framework concepts and toolkit required for the strategic management of humanitarian logistics and the supply chain. In addition to studying key skills concerning the effective and efficient management of the supply chain you will also learn about humanitarian problems caused by a range of current trends, such as migration in the Mediterranean, the use of chemical weapons, desertification and global inequality.
The effective and efficient management of the Supply Chains has been recognised as key to achieving a competitive advantage. A supply chain is described as the flow of products or services from their point of origin through to the final point of sale or use. Logistics seeks to optimise these flows, from both a physical and information standpoint.
Huddersfield is one of a few UK universities offering this type of supply chain management course. The skills you will gain from this degree will prepare you for work in a multitude of organisations globally, both within the public and private sectors.
