Course content

The world is becoming a turbulent place with humanitarian and environmental challenges being at the forefront. Sustainability should be part of every business model. This course provides the essential framework, concepts and toolkit required for the strategic management of sustainable logistics and the supply chain. The effective and efficient management of the Supply Chains has been recognised as key to achieving a competitive advantage. A supply chain is described as the flow of products or services from their point of origin through to the final point of sale or use. Logistics seeks to optimise these flows, from both a physical and information standpoint.

The pursuit of sustainability will be explored using theory and practice-based frameworks related to business responsibility, corporate sustainability and sustainable development, and students will be introduced to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and will examine how businesses can collaborate to achieve them.
