Course content

This course is suitable for graduates from a range of engineering disciplines; mechanical, manufacturing and engineering systems, or closely related science disciplines such as chemical, applied sciences and industrial design.

We provide a balanced diet of technical deepening, technical broadening and management. The course includes a substantial project that will allow you to develop your own particular interests within the broad area of mechanical engineering.

You will have the opportunity to study in one of the UK’s most advanced precision engineering laboratories, with a range of ultraprecision surface measurement, coordinate measurement and machining equipment. A range of mechanical test analysis equipment is also provided to enable fatigue, modal and thermal analysis. Within the automotive lab a wind tunnel, a range of engine test beds and a four-post ride simulator are also available.
