Entry requirements for this course are normally:
A Postgraduate Diploma in HR Management or HR Development (or an equivalent CIPD recognised predecessor qualification from pre 2013). This accredits you with two thirds (120 credits) of the points needed for a Master's level qualification (180 credits).
Months of entry
The MA in Human Resource Development enables you to build on your existing Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management or Development in to gain access to a Master's level qualification in one year at the University of Huddersfield. This will give you an internationally recognised level of attainment and contribute towards your professional standing.
In the first term you are required to complete the Dissertation Planning module to explore and refine your topic area. Following successful completion of this module, you progress to the dissertation stage, which will be completed in eight months in the academic year of registration.
The focus of your dissertation will determine whether you complete the course with an HR Management or HR Development Master's award.
The course is run on block attendance to optimise your time away from work. This comprises five group teaching days between October and January to consider key strategic HR issues and research methodology and to prepare you for the Dissertation Proposal submission. You are then assigned a personal tutor who will work closely with you to supervise your chosen dissertation topic.
