Entry requirements

2:2 bachelor’s degree or above (or equivalent) in a subject relevant to public health, such as health professional qualifications, social sciences, applied sciences, business, leadership, management or administration. Some experience of working in public health services is recommended. Applicants whose first language or language of instruction is not English will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum of IELTS 6.5 overall with no element lower than 6.0, will be considered acceptable, or equivalent. Some option modules may require specific qualifications, experience, expertise or background. You may be eligible to gain accreditation for your prior learning towards this course.

Course content

This non-clinical course is aimed at individuals currently working or intending to work in public health administration roles. You may be a health or non-health professional who is interested in developing your knowledge and understanding of public health administration. The course provides the opportunity for you to develop leadership, management and administration skills for use in a public health context, which is informed by up to date evidence. You may also broaden your knowledge and understanding of public health issues from an international perspective. This includes a consideration of strategic change and development, leadership and management in public health services. Some option modules may require specific qualifications, experience, expertise or background.
