Entry requirements for this course are normally: * An Honours degree (2:2 or above) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Systems or a closely related science subject area or an equivalent professional qualification. You are also encouraged to apply if you have other qualifications and/or experience and can demonstrate that you are equipped with knowledge and skills equivalent to Honours degree level. If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable. Months of entry
This course has been designed to enhance your career as an engineering designer and aims to advance to positions in design management in a short period of time. The course offers a balanced suite of modules that will explore technical deepening, technical broadening and management. In addition, you will undertake a substantial project that will allow you to develop your own particular interests within the broad area of mechanical engineering design. You will have the opportunity to study in one of the most advanced precision engineering laboratories in the UK, with a range of ultraprecision surface measurement, coordinate measurement and machining equipment. You may have the opportunity in the Mechanical Science laboratory to access a range of mechanical test and analysis equipment, to enable fatigue, modal and thermal analysis.
