We would normally expect applicants for postgraduate research to have achieved one of the following in a subject relevant to the proposed degree: a degree equivalent to a UK first or good upper second class honours degree or good performance in a Masters level course.

Course content

We offer a range of PhD opportunities in the area of Materials Research (IMR). The Institute is a centre of excellence and its current activities are organised within 4 main areas, one of which (Fibrous Structures), forms part of the research activity of the School of Design:
