We would normally expect applicants for postgraduate research to have achieved one of the following in a subject relevant to the proposed degree: a degree equivalent to a UK first or good upper second class honours degree or good performance in a Masters level course.

We offer a range of PhD opportunities in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Biological Systems. Our research ranges from fundamental work through to applied studies in collaboration with many industrial and public organisations and interdisciplinary research with psychology and neuroscience for example. The Institute is home to five research groups:
