Good honours degree. Alternative qualifications/experience may be considered in individual cases. For PhD prior masters qualification is normally expected.

Course content

The School of Music provides research supervision to PhD-level in performance, composition, music technology, and most branches of musicology. Excellent library collections include scores, books and audio and video recordings. There are well-equipped electronic studios and computing, word-processing and music-processing facilities.

Information for international students

High level of English language ability essential, especially for musicological study. Study options include the University's `split-site' arrangement - living mostly at home.
