Course content

This highly flexible programme gives students the opportunity to acquire a sophisticated understanding of theories and methods at the forefront of the disciplines of Theology and Religious Studies. The programme has been designed to enable you, as the student, to build the course around your interests.

You have a choice of core modules, depending on whether you wish to give your studies a Theology or Religious Studies emphasis; or you may wish to use the course to explore the fruitful interactions between these two approaches to the study of religion. There is also the option of writing an extended dissertation, equivalent to one half of the programme, if you have an enthusiasm for a particular topic which you would like to investigate more closely and at length, with the support of a supervisor. Our staff have expertise in a wide range of religious traditions, and their research covers all the central questions in Theology and Religious Studies.
