Entry requirements

Minimum of 2:1 Honours degree and usually also a Master's degree from a British University or equivalent qualifications from another recognised institution. Sufficient professional experience to undertake their proposed research. Applicants whose first language is not English need to supply evidence of a high level of proficiency in English (IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 250/600 min, or equivalent).

Course content

Education has a reputation for high-quality research. Students join established research groups, Social Inclusion and Citizenship Research Group (SIEC); Educational Leadership and Management Research Group (ELM); Research Group for English Language Teacher Education and Applied Linguistics (ETAL); Research training is comprehensive. Students have access to seminars from UK and international scholars, and excellent library facilities.

Information for international students

PT students resident abroad can normally register providing they attend the university annually for supervision and research training for one month.
