A primary degree (Level 8 - National Qualifications Authority of Ireland) is necessary or an approved professional qualification. Theoretical knowledge of dance or practical dance experiences are not required, but participants will be expected to have a keen interest in the subject area.

Diploma in Dance stimulates the creation of specific teaching programmes both within and outside the formal education system, thus being open to diverse categories of teachers. For example, involvement with theatre dance, local community art, etc.
