Months of entry
The Master of Education (Languages) programme is designed to provide graduates with a professional qualification in language teaching. Graduates will become post-primary teachers of two of the following languages: English as a second language, French, German, Irish, Japanese, Spanish. Applicants are required to hold a level 8 honours degree (2.2 or above) in a relevant discipline. Furthermore, all applicants must ensure that both languages chosen are recognised by the Teaching Council for the purpose of teaching in post-primary schools. This course will develop students’ understanding of the language-learning process and associated pedagogies.
Information for international students
Applicants whose first language is not English must provide evidence of either prior successful completion of a degree qualification taught through the medium of English or meet one of the Universities English Language Requirements.
