A registered nurse on the current register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland Be engaged in practice as a registered nurse for at least one year Students would normally possess a primary degree( Minimum 2.2) or show evidence of recognized prior learning (RPL) as outlined in the ( RPL) policy of the University.
Months of entry
In year one students undertake a total of 8 modules described below. In year 2 all students will complete one additional research module and a dissertation.
(Year 1) (Year 2) Semester 1
Health Research - Methodolog,y, Concepts of Specialist and Advanced Practice. Practice Placement 1, Rehabilitation Nursing - Older Person(Assessment) Semesters 3 and 4
Health Research - Methods, Dissertation 1, Dissertation 2 Semester 2
Healthcare Policy and Reform, Practice Placement 2, Rehabilitation Nursing - Older Person (Therapeutic nursing interventions) Elective Modules
Students will select one Module from a range of the following Elective Modules to be taken in Semester 2. Not all Modules may be offered in any year.
Health Promotion in Nursing/Midwifery Practice, Consultancy in Nursing / Midwifery
Trans-cultural Care, Therapeutic Engagement Complementary Therapies in Healthcare Practice.
