Course content

Research through MPhil / PhD is an academic, creative journey following a unique question of enquiry set by the students themselves. Teaching methods include a combination of taught research methods, postgraduate seminars, peer reviews and the opportunity for presentations, exhibitions and publications.

Research students usually have two internal supervisors with specialist knowledge of their subject areas. You will have regular meetings for academic supervision, advice, monitoring and other support.

You are encouraged to give presentations to postgraduate seminars, which are held regularly throughout the year. This is an opportunity to engage in peer reviews and dissemination. There are opportunities to apply to attend conferences and to publish in conference proceedings and refereed journals.
