This programme enables you to develop your expertise in a particular area of computer science and to consolidate your skills in preparation for senior positions in research development or technology management.
The flexible nature of this Master’s enables you to undertake research in an area that is of interest to you or relevant to your current employment. Examples of recent projects include hybrid information systems management, machine vision system development for automatic identification of food blemishes, and using
bio-inspired neural networks to prevent collisions between cars and pedestrians.
Engaging with the School’s research centres will give you access to expertise in areas including vision engineering, autonomous systems, social computing, human-computer interaction and artificial intelligence. Supported by an experienced supervisory team, you will have opportunities to publish your work in academic journals and present your findings at conferences.
Computer Vision, Intelligent Systems, and Distributed Software Engineering, and a strong applied focus in domains including: Satellite Imaging, Medical Screening, Video Surveillance, Collaborative Software Development, Open Source Computing, and Component-Based Software Engineering.
