Course content

While studying for an MPhil or PhD, you will undertake independent research in an area of your choice, supervised and supported by a team of experienced academics. You will have access to a range of training opportunities provided by the University to develop your research skills.

Example research areas include theatre and consciousness, adaptation, translation and dramaturgy, musical theatre, intercultural theatre, modern European avant garde, Indian theatre, gender and performance, German theatre, playwriting, Shakespeare’s theatre, directing, dance and technology, 20th Century British theatre, contemporary experimental performance, practice as research, embodiment and postcolonial theatre.
