Course content

The online programme in Corporate Finance is designed with the needs of working professionals in mind. The primary aim of the programme is to enhance the abilities of such professionals to support their personal and professional development.

About the online Corporate Finance MSc

The programme is a highly flexible way of obtaining a postgraduate degree. It leads to the degree of MSc from the University of Liverpool, but is being offered worldwide in partnership with Laureate Online Education.

The mode of delivery of the programme is entirely by distance learning using the internet. This enables students to pursue the programme via home study while continuing in employment – they can log in any hour of the day or night, participating at times that best fit their schedule.

The aim of the programme is to provide postgraduate level education in corporate finance principles, theories and practice within a global context.
The programme provides a sound theoretical basis for understanding and analysing practical issues in corporate finance and to provide contextual knowledge of international financial markets and institutions.

The programme deals with key themes relating to how companies manage their investment, financing and distributions and the consequences of these decisions for valuation.

Students will be able to apply concepts and techniques in corporate finance and related disciplines and to understand relevant issues, analyse problems and provide advice.

The programme aims to achieve these objectives by:

  • Enhancing skills of quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Promoting understanding of the nature and functions of international financial markets and institutions
  • Applying knowledge of the principles of finance and accounting to interpret the performance and position of organisations and to value entities and their financial instruments
  • Supporting the development of practical knowledge and skills necessary for employment in management and finance positions.
