Course content
Through its unique research-led design curriculum, this programme aims to negotiate the practical, theoretical, and speculative aspects of housing design.
You will explore the contextual and technical challenges facing future urbanities.
You will be introduced to research by design methods at different scales allowing you to develop a critical overview on housing issues and solutions in different metropolitan contexts.
You will benefit from the international academic collaborations this programme offers – both in terms of providing a wide range of global expertise and student exchange opportunities. Partnerships with schools such as the London School of Architecture, Politecnico Milano and XJTLU in China are just a few examples presenting unique opportunities for you to benefit from a strong network of design and research culture.
The programme is also underpinned by a strong professional network – including practices, developers, and government bodies. Through a strong interdisciplinary approach, you will examine housing production through a multi-scalar lens addressing the city, its housing types, the homes, and its inhabitants.
