About Faculty of Business and Law

We hold the UK government’s TEF Gold award, so by choosing Northampton, you will be studying at one of the best teaching universities in the UK.

The University of Northampton Faculty of Business and Law (FBL), formerly known as Northampton Business School, boasts many decades of experience in delivering high-quality teaching and research supported by strong links with industry and commerce.

We are ambitious, confident and entrepreneurial, attributes that contribute to our strong growth and recognition as one of the country’s leading business educators and ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Logistics and Supply. A number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the Faculty of Business and Law also offer additional recognition such as accreditations, qualifications and activities.

The Faculty is the largest at the university and the most diverse, hosting the majority of the university’s international students. We offer a full range of disciplines from undergraduate to doctoral level and our students benefit from a contemporary and industry-focused curriculum.

All our three-year undergraduate degrees in the Faculty of Business and Law and many of our postgraduate programmes offer the option to take up a paid placement of up to 12 months. This is proving extremely popular with international students, who realise that the UK employment experience will give them a real advantage when it comes to job-seeking.

The Faculty is externally facing, internationally oriented and actively engaged in a wide and growing range of enterprise, social enterprise, corporate education & training and applied research activity. Our academic staff deliver programmes around the world and embrace enterprising behaviours, underpinned by a belief that everybody has the power to make a positive impact on society – small changes that add up to make the world a better place. Our unique commitment to social innovation made us the UK’s first Ashoka U Changemaker Campus and means our academic staff and our students work hard to have a positive effect on the world.
