Months of entry
The Computer Science MSc is designed for those who have already completed a first degree in Computer Science or a related subject. (If in doubt about whether you meet the entry requirements, please do not hesitate to contact us.) The degree prepares students for highly skilled programming careers in industry and/or research.
Subjects taught within the degree reflect the research strengths of the School of Computer Science, particularly in the mathematical foundations of programming, in automated scheduling and planning, and in interactive systems. The degree aims to bring students to the forefront of research in these areas, equipping them to take leading roles in software development where the demands of reliability and efficiency are particularly important.
In the latest national assessment of research excellence, The School of Computer Science were ranked 9th in the UK for research power, with 88% of our research activity classified as being world-leading or internationally excellent, and our research environment receiving the 2nd best rating in Computer Science in the UK.
