Microbiology research covers organisms from prokaryotes to eukaryotes, including archaea, bacteria, yeasts, lichens and filamentous fungi.
Projects involve the use of physiological, genetic and genomic approaches to elucidate mechanisms of DNA recombination and repair (archaea and bacteria), of motility (bacteria), or of genome dynamics, sexual reproduction, biotechnological applications, or responses to environment and stress (fungi).
