Entry requirements

You are normally required to have a good undergraduate Honours degree (or equivalent from a university outside the UK). If you have other qualifications and a number of years’ relevant work experience then you may also be eligible to apply. Applicants should normally have a good Honours undergraduate degree in Film, Theatre, Television or Media, or a related Humanities subject, with significant experience of critical and analytical study.

Course content

The MAs by Research in Film, Theatre and Television aim to enable you to build on your undergraduate studies, deepening your theoretical and practical skills in Film, Theatre and Television. This course is particularly suited for students willing to gain further depth into the theory and practice of film, theatre or television, or all of those combined, through an interdisciplinary approach. You will work closely, through supervision sessions and tutorials, with leading staff in their research areas. You will be part of a friendly and supportive postgraduate community, including regular research seminars with invited speakers, research groups and the annual international postgraduate conference JAM (Journeys Across Media).

Information for international students

Evidence of English Language ability required. Normal requirements are: • an overall score of 7.0 in the International English Language Test Score (IELTS) with no individual element scoring less than 6.0 or • an overall score of 6.5 in the IELTS with no individual element scoring less than 5.5
