Entry requirements

Suitable for Graduates with an Honours degree or applicants with relevant experience in the broadcast / communications industries. You should want to develop your critical understanding and creative skills in the field. And your aim will be to pursue a career in documentary film-making or creative-media production. Accreditation for Prior Experiential Learning (APEL) We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/tradiational entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully. The Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) process could help you to make your work and life experience count. The APL process can be used for entry onto courses or to give you exemptions from your course. Two forms of APL may be used for entry: the Accreditation of Prior Certified Learning (APCL) or the Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).

Course Summary

On this course, you will learn how to research and produce original television documentaries.

During your time with us, you will receive expert instruction and guidance on the concepts, techniques and processes key to the documentary form. And you will produce your own documentaries, collaborating with your fellow students in production teams.

With opportunities to engage closely with industry, the course develops the skills and techniques required to work in the media, while encouraging independent creative content production.

Information for international students

International applicants will be required to show a proficiency in English. An IELTS score of 6.0 (no element below 5.5) is proof of this.
