Entry requirements

Applications for this course must have a minimum of a second class undergraduate honours degree in a relevant discipline, or a minimum of a second class undergraduate honours degree in an unrelated discipline and significant work experience within the built environment, or a recognised appropriate professional qualification such as RICS or CIOB. Suitable For: Construction professionals or graduates from other built environment disciplines, including building surveying, construction management or architecture. You should want to specialise in quantity surveying. Applicant profile: This course is for you if you have a desire to enhance your current knowledge base and specialise in the area of quantity surveying. You will have a strong academic and/or professional background in the built environment, enabling you to build on the experience you already have. Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills and good knowledge of construction processes are a must.

Course Summary

This course has been designed to equip you with the knowledge you’ll need to become a skilled quantity surveyor.

During your time with us, you’ll develop a sound understanding of procurement and financial management, plus you’ll learn to appreciate the significance of process, technology and people to the success of projects.

Upon graduation, you’ll be confident in critiquing existing practice by implementing process measurement and by evaluating alternative strategies for process improvement. You’ll also learn how to take measures to improve teamwork on construction projects.

This course is delivered at Columbo School of Construction Technology (CSCT), in Colombo, Sri Lanka and taught by academic staff from the University of Salford UK. This course is fully accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Information for international students

International students must provide evidence of proficiency in English - IELTS 6.0 with no band below 5.5 or an equivalent qualification are proof of this.
