A 2:1 degree or above (or a recognised equivalent) with some relevance to your chosen subject is desirable, Evidence of interest in post-compulsory learning and teaching and social inclusion, Some understanding of the needs of learners in your subject area (relevant experience will be an advantage), Level 3 skills in your specialist subject, Mathematics and English language GCSE Grade C or above (or equivalent) are desirable, Applicants are required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as appropriate. Months of entry
These courses provide a nationally recognised qualification to teach, Adult Literacy and Communication, Adult Numeracy and Mathematics or English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) in further, adult or community education or other post-compulsory settings.
You will gain the skills, knowledge and understanding required to teach students over the age of 16 and deepen your understanding of learning and teaching in your subject.
You will engage with key questions, challenges and current debates in your subject area. You are encourages to reflect on and critique current policies and practices in teaching your subject, and develop considered approaches to the diverse needs of learners.
On completion you will gain a Professional Graduate Certificate in Education in Adult Literacy and Communication, or Adult Numeracy and Mathematics, or in ESOL.
